SWIMWEAR TRENDS FOR SUMMER

Finding the right swimsuit takes wayyyy more consideration than following the latest trends, of course. One should always consider the core “rules” around fit, color and cut to make sure you’re investing in the right ones to truly flatter you. But that doesn’t mean that trending styles can’t work for you, however, so here are a few of our favs to shop this season:

• Vintage Vibes: Balconette tops are huge this season.  The underwire is great for more support on top and I recommend pairing with a high waisted bottom.  Try a suit in a retro print to give an on-trend vintage vibe.
• 3D Embellishments: Rosettes, ruffles and bows have dominated the runways and now are showing up across swimwear collections.  From floral appliques on bustlines and shoulders to frilly trims, this look provides a feminine and romantic feel. 
• Tie & Lace up: I’m calling this the new version of the cutout.  Whether to wrap a bikini top in place, to show a little more skin in a one piece or create the illusion of curves in the waist, straps and tie up styles are huge in swimwear right now. 
• Athletic: This summer look for bathing suits with high cut legs, one shoulder necklines and rash guards to channel your inner lifeguard.  Shop these in bold colors with white piping for a totally sporty look.
•  Glam: Expect to see the metallic and sequin trend in swimwear this year with high shine suits in unexpected fabrics. Try something like a shimmering lurex one-piece, latex bikini or a color like gold or silver.   
• Accessories and Clothing:  Take these trends from the sand to the street.   Incorporate some of the seasons tops trends like a sheer wrap skirt or pant, crochet bag or straw visor into your outfit both on and off the beach.
