The primary sanctuary of the home is undoubtedly the most intimate space we design. That’s why I love making it completely unique to each client and incorporating what’s most important to them. While not every trend is meant for every space, these are our five personal favorites we see picking up for 2023:
The art of mixing fabrics, colors and prints together in a very intentional way is hot right now and as self proclaimed maximalists, we are here for it. From wallpaper to throw pillows to artwork, I like to use one main source of inspiration or focal point and build from there finding some cohesion yet playing off of one another.
Gone are the days where you head to the furniture store and purchase the entire bedroom set. We love the idea of combining a vintage, restored bed with newer nightstands or dresser in a different finish. This makes the space feel one of a kind, unique to your tastes and overall more visually interesting
Still very much on trend this year, the curved lines of couches and archways have expanded into the bedroom. I’m seeing curvature places in headboards, canopy beds, chaises, dressers and more and these pieces provide a nice softness to furniture that is also reminiscent of the 70’s.
Many people are opting out of traditional table lighting for bedside table sconces. This is a great way to add more pizazz to your walls, think of this as a piece of art and go bold if you want to make a loud statement.
I said this last year as well and couldn’t be more excited to see the “days of gray” pass us by. Say hello to warmer shades of beige and creams that feel cozier and we’re also seeing warmer wood tones return like walnut to our palettes.
