Being a self-proclaimed maximalist, I am always trying to push the envelope when it comes to design. Often the simplest way to elevate a space is by incorporating wallpaper. Wallpaper can be used anywhere your little heart desires. From the backdrop of your bookshelves, to the inside of your cabinetry, there is no space I wouldn’t touch.
The drama doesn’t have to end at your walls! One of my favorite places to wallpaper is on the ceiling. The most important part is having fun and being bold. Or make the room impactful by doing a full wrap of a room, where all walls are papered.
The best part about wallpaper is it that it can add depth, pattern, texture, and color to a room in an instant. Think about how you want the room to feel. This will always leave a lasting impression. When friends or clients circle back about how they enjoyed my home I know I’ve accomplished what I wanted. Try to find wallpaper that complements the overall color palate of the room or create layering by adding different colors that complement one another.
Some of my favorite wallpaper brands are Kelly Wearstler and Phillip Jeffries. These wallpaper brands are works of art themselves and will make big impressions in any room.
Lastly, my biggest advice is aways order samples of the products you find online. Often times the quality of the paper or scale of the print can be misleading. So if you’re in need for a quick change and you’re not looking for a huge reno I always suggest adding wallpaper. The cost of wallpaper can run you hundreds to thousands of dollars and that’s not including installation. Yes I know that in itself is a large expense but I guarantee with the right selection it can make your home feel fresh and modern.
